The Odd Lists and Such
I know, lists are so limiting, lists are so clichéd, lists are so 5 minutes ago. So what. Some movies:
- Pride and Prejudice (yes, the 2005 one)
- Babette’s Feast
- Chocolat
- Dr Strangelove
- Finding Nemo
- A Room With a View
- Casablanca
- Roman Holiday
- The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming!
- Calendar Girls
- Turtle Diary
- Amélie
- It Happened One Night
- Four Weddings & A Funeral
Well, yes, I know. All pretty light hearted. Or at least gentle. But that’s what I require for repeated viewing.

And now an odd list of some Librivox projects I’d like to see done, especially by me, or more specifically Book Coordinated by me:
- Nobody’s Girl by Hector Malot
- Two Years Before the Mast by Richard Henry Dana
- The World’s Great Men of Music by Harriette Brower
- The Communistic Societies of the United States by Charles Nordhoff
- Northern California, Oregon, and the Sandwich Islands by Charles Nordhoff
This last one, a travel book published in 1875, is notable for the enlightened perspective of the author, at least as far as I have read. A particular bonus is the amount of space he devotes to describing northern California, and Mendocino County in particular. The illustrations are beautiful as well.
